Deacons at Fremont are led by the Spirit and joyfully committed to be caregivers of the church family! Each deacon is nominated by the Nominating Committee, elected by the congregation, and serves a three-year term. In addition to visiting homebound members, each deacon also serves on one of the following ministry teams:

• The Caring Ministry prepares and serves meals for people in need: provides receptions following funerals, if requested; sends cards to encourage those who are ill, homebound, or grieving; and coordinates the prayer chain.
• The New Member Ministry involves attending with others standardized participation in all Cornerstone (New Member) classes. Fremont's new members are welcomed, assisted in learning about Fremont, and contacted about their involvement after they have joined.
• The Special Projects Ministry oversees a clothing drive for Fremont's Clothes Closet, blood drives, wheelchair assistance, and distribution of meals to needy families at holidays.
• The Calling and Transportation Ministry keeps track of the many visits made by deacons to homebound members, and requests drivers when Fremonters need transportation to Church and appointments.
• Deacons prepare the elements and table for Communion each month.
