The fellowship and the feeling of being part of a family. We meet twice a week, rehearsal and Sunday morning, so we really get to know each other and what’s going on in each other’s lives. I’ve always felt that one of the main reasons we sing so beautifully together is because we care so much about each other. That depth of caring enriches the whole experience of singing!
Come on in!
It's a great opportunity to learn new music and to worship with others.
What I like most about singing in Fremont
Presbyterian's choir is hearing the parts
and voices blend all around me, into a musical whole that is so much greater
than the sum of the parts (pun intended).
With a great piece of music, this even includes "the goose bump
factor".
Put
your fears aside, and give it a try. If you can't read music, it's manageable,
and you can learn a lot. The time
commitment is minimal and it's fun, easy, and inspirational.
The
music is so inspirational and beautiful.
It underscores the sermons and communion, enriches the worship service,
and I think is one of the best parts of the Traditional service. I feel like
the choir and music bring people into worship.
When
you sing in the choir, you will receive more than you give. Another part of
your brain comes alive, and another part of your heart; and it's there with you
all week. It is a wonderful way to
imprint God's message in your heart and mind.
There
are the occasional certain anthems that somehow are able to capture all of my
being in worshiping Jesus Christ as Lord, Savior and coming King. This must
include the reality that only a choral director gifted, committed and skilled
in choral repertoire could make it possible.
I have seen choir members' faith strengthened
through community of choir singers and leadership of the choir director. I have
witnessed healing in broken lives through the ministry of the choir. For me
personally, I have been moved to deeper commitment in service to Jesus Christ
through association with other choir members.
Just
come to one rehearsal and experience what happens in that choral room (I call
it Sacred Magic!) – you will want to come back and, if you do, your life will
be blessed more that you can possibly imagine, so JUST DO IT!!!
I enjoy the opportunity to come together and
worship in song, whether
it's in a Sunday worship service or our
weekly rehearsal.
If someone asked me about joining choir I would
say that was the best thing they could do. The choir family is a very GOD
Loving Family. Singing is one of the most heart-felt ways we can
praise the LORD.
