WHAT WE BELIEVE

Fremont accepts that you have entrusted us to provide for strengthening and nurturing the faith, life and love of our congregation.  With God’s guidance, we acknowledge this to be our primary responsibility, and commit to exemplify the love and unity possible only in Jesus Christ. Therefore, we prayerfully present the basic tenets that have been, and will continue to be the core and focus of all worship and ministries:

We believe in one God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • Jesus Christ was fully human, is fully God, is the only true Savior, and desires to be our Lord.
  • The Bible is the inspired, complete and authoritative witness to Jesus Christ, and is God’s Word to us.
  • The Holy Spirit resides in every believer, nurturing and transforming us to maturity as measured by the full stature of Jesus Christ.
  • The Holy Spirit gives gifts to every believer, empowering their use for the building of this church to maturity.
  • We all are ministers, and must be equipped in order to fulfill the many church ministries and our mission to the community and the world.
  • Corporate worship and the sacraments are central to the building of faith and for the expression of our adoration to Jesus Christ.
  • Prayer is essential to knowing God’s will for our lives and this church, and provides relationship, power and wholeness.
  • As the Body of Christ we need and experience fellowship, spiritual growth and care for one another.
  • Christ’s love is best evidenced by our unity, and in the way we love each other.

These statements embody the distinctives of the Reformed Tradition:
Christ alone... Scripture alone... Grace alone... Faith alone.

Called to be catalysts for faith and action, your Session invites each of you to join with us in these affirmations.
