Fremont Music Camp

June 26-30, (8:30 am - 12:15 pm each day)

"Rescue in the Night" Open to all children entering 2nd-6th grades.

Online Registration will begin Tuesday, April 4th at 4:00 pm. Cost is $90 for the first child and $80 for each additional child in the family. Online registration requires that you pay by Visa or MasterCard to complete registration. If you are unable to pay by credit card, please contact the Music Office before you register at 452-7132 or email musiccamp@fremontpres.org.

Scholarships

Full and partial scholarships are available, but you must contact the Music Office before you register.

 Daily Schedule

Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm. Morning includes: Camp production rehearsals - 2 elective classes (See classes offered) – Snack time

Friday 8:30 am to 2:30 pm (the children need to bring a sack lunch) 

Friday 6:30 pm performance

 

Before You Register

  1. Review class choices with your child.
  2. If scholarship needed, contact the Music Office before you register.
  3. Have your Visa or MasterCard ready.

 

Books and CD's

Please pick up your child's book and CD from the church office starting Friday morning, April 7th. For a small fee, you may have it mailed to your home.

 

Auditions for Cast Parts

3rd graders and above may audition for cast parts and solos in the musical.

Auditions will be held Saturday, May 6, 9am to 1pm. You will receive more detailed information regarding auditions when you pick up your book and CD.

 

Production

Friday evening, June 30, at 6:30 pm the children will present the production of "Holy Moses." The evening will begin with demonstrations from some of the elective classes, giving the children the opportunity to showcase their activities for the week.  We expect all children who attend Music Camp to participate in the Friday night production


Classes Offered

Please note: some classes have prerequisites and/or age limitations.

 Bells   For children with previous experience or good music reading skills.
Prerequisite: Ability to read music.

Chimes   Similar to bells, but designed for beginning and intermediate ringers.

Beginning Choreography   This fun class will teach the elements of expressive movement
to music.

Intermediate Choreography    For those who have experience with choreography
Age limitaion: Entering grades 4-6.

 Drama   This class is for anyone who is not in the musical cast. Gain experience and
confidence in acting on stage as well as learning auditioning skills.

Guitar   Learn basic chord patterns and strumming techniques. Required: Bring your own guitar. Age limitation: Entering grades 4-6.

 Musical Crafts   Have a great time making fun crafts that you can use to make your own music.

Fun & Games   A time of group games on the playground, including a day of water games.

Musical Sign Language   An introduction to sign language and signing while you sing.

Percussion   Explore sounds and rhythms and experience some fun ways to learn to keep a beat.

Beginning Piano   Explore basic piano skills and learn to play a song in 5 days.

Recorder   Learn how to play a beginning instrument and make beautiful music.

Set Design and Construction   Help design, construct, and paint the sets used in our musical. Age limitation: Entering grades 4-6.

 Solo Voice Gain confidence as a solo singer.

Sound Engineering   Explore the basics of sound engineering and help set up the  microphones and sound system for the musical. Age limitation: Entering grades 5-6.
