Gaffney have ministered to college and young adults since 1987. He served for six years as Director of University Ministries at First Presbyterian Church of Boulder, CO where they helped develop an outreach to students at the University of Colorado. He then served for 14 years at University Presbyterian Church of Seattle, WA, a ministry that impacts over 2,000 students annually. The past ten years they have been on staff with Young Life, leading an initiative to develop college ministries that disciple kids already reached by Young Life, reach out to new students, and develop leaders for God’s Kingdom and the mission of Young Life. Mike and Shari are entering their 30th year of serving and leading in collegiate ministry. Shari serves as the Executive Administrator for Young Life College and University. Mike and Shari also actively minister to pre-married and married couples of all ages through mentoring and speaking. Mike graduated from University of Washington with degrees in Psychology and Sociology and from Fuller Theological Seminary with an MA in Theology. He is an ordained elder and minister. He was a member of the 1982-86 University of Washington Husky Football Teams and a three year letterman.
