Fremont Recreation Ministry
Upward Volleyball at Fremont Presbyterian Church
Upward Volleyball is a Christ-centered volleyball league for students who are in 5th through 8th grade to unite over the game of volleyball and learn about Jesus. We will offer two types of participation, a recreation league and a competitive league. The recreation league is geared towards players who have had little to no experience with volleyball and practices will be focused on developing beginner skills and understanding the game. The competitive league is best for players with more experience and its practices will develop and extend skills as well as teach more complex aspects of the game such as different rotations and plays.
Evaluations are Sunday, February 22nd or Wednesday, February 25th from 6:30-8:30. Each player needs to attend one of the dates listed. Once teams are formed, 1 hour practices will be scheduled for either Sundays from 1:00-5:00 pm or Thursdays from 6:00-8:00 pm. These will start the week of Sunday, March 15th. Friday night games begin on March 20th, the end of season tournament and celebration will be on May 15th. Register your student beginning Friday, January 30th!
Also consider serving as a volunteer! We’re looking for coaches and referees but also gym hosts to welcome families and lead devotionals during practices. Fill out the volunteer form if you want to be a coach or referee. Email volleyball@fremontpres.org if interested in being a gym host!
Upward Basketball at Fremont Presbyterian Church
A Fun, Faith-Friendly Sports Experience for Kids
For nearly two decades, Fremont Presbyterian Church has partnered with Upward Sports to bring a Christ-centered basketball program to families in our community. Each season, hundreds of children learn not only the fundamentals of the game, but also the values of teamwork, integrity, and faith that last far beyond the court.
About Upward Sports
Upward Sports is a nationwide ministry that equips churches to use the power of sports to share the gospel and build community. Each program is designed to develop the whole athlete — mind, body, spirit, and character — through fun competition, positive coaching, and an encouraging environment where every child feels valued.
