Scripture: John 3

Key points to ponder: Jesus challenges Nicodemus, and us, to be born again (vs 3), and this happens through believing in him (vs 16). God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him (v. 17).

Challenging terms: Pharisee, meaning a Jewish religious leader, so he knew a lot about the scriptures; “light” is a reference to Jesus (v. 19).

Question: Why does Jesus say you must be born again to see the kingdom of God?

Prayer: Father, thank you for sending your Son into the world to be the light by which we can be saved.

Consider praying about loving things that represent light more than those things that represent darkness.
