SCRIPTURE: Luke 12
KEY POINTS TO PONDER: There’s a big theme in this chapter of being vigilant, of being ready. The parable of the rich fool reveals that the things of this world can make us dull to the things that matter. Likewise, worry can occupy our heart. We are to live with our gaze fixed upon heaven. This doesn’t negate our responsibilities on earth, but rather informs our mission here on earth.
CHALLENGING TERMS: The leaven of the Pharisees in verse 1 refers to the hypocritical teachings and lifestyle. The teaching on division in verses 49-53 simply reveals that, at times, we will have to choose Christ over our earthly relationships.
